Description: longplays.org Played by: MadMatty Puzzle Bobble Arcade conversion developed and released by JHB in 2022. The game is freely downloadable at csdb.dk/release/?id=214213 Code - Acied of JHB Music - nm156 Graphics - Hend of Protovision Loader - Cadaver of Protovision “PUZZLE BOBBLE” is an action puzzle game released by Taito in 1994. Bub and Bob, the bubble spitting dragons from the action game, BUBBLE BOBBLE, are back in a new bubble-based puzzle! Skilfully bounce bubbles off the walls and match 3 or more bubbles of the same colour to erase them! Enjoy the easy to learn, but hard to master, bubble shooter puzzle game! A faithful reproduction of Puzzle Bobble for the C64. 30 levels that will test your patience as although you don't have to rush it, there are score bonuses for getting through each level as quick as possible. The real challenge is having the bubble go where you want it to go! It's too easy to have the bubbles go to far right or left and block your next shots. Meanwhile the level is steadily shrinking. Should any of the bubbles hit the bottom, its game over! 1 Life. If you have inserted multiple credits then you can continue but your score will reset. The conversion is very well presented and well detailed. Some border tricks make the viewable look larger than most C64 games. The music changes speed the closer you are to losing everything making those important shots even more dramatic. There are a couple of sound samples which sound really rough. Not sure if that's an emulation issue or not. Recorded with WinVICE 3.4. The game is PAL only and SID8580 used. Easyflash version is being played. 00:00:00 Demoscene Intro 00:03:55 Title Screens 00:05:36 Game Starts Here! 00:53:00 A quick look at 2 player mode Disclaimer: Most videos by World of Longplays use SaveStates!
